[...] This is getting a little silly on a couple of levels. First, it appears that Subway’s credit card processing problems are spread all over the metro area. Second, apparently they couldn’t get them resolved between Friday and Sunday which is an awfully long time for such a thing to persist. Last and certainly not least, Subway appears to be incapable of hiring anyone who can exercise proper word choice. See earlier example.
I just listened to the podcast yesterday, and I had many of the same conflicting feelings you outline here. Now, I've been amused by the 419 baiting thing before, particularly when it results in sophomoric pranks like trying to get the scammers to dress in ridiculous attire and make embarrassing YouTube videos. What can I say, I'm very easily amused sometimes. :)

This, though...man. They sent the guy to friggin' Chad and kept him strung along there for weeks? The glee with which they described their exploits actually made me feel sick at a few points. It wasn't just a matter of taking things too far - it was a totally different kind of game, and I felt like they enjoyed it way too much.

And then, just when I was firmly in the camp of feeling sympathy for the scammer, they read that last email from him where he was recommending that his victim send $10,000 for his "processing fee" rather than paying for his (theoretical) kid's medical expenses.

Is it okay for me to just hate all of them a little?

Yeah, I heard this, too. I was making dinner and trying to keep Dante entertained at the same time, so I tuned in and out--the result being I was having trouble figuring out if it was the scammer or the vigilante talking! The vigilantes did come off as pretty despicable. I would have *thought* I would like them (yea guys who give to the jerks who scam old ladies out of their pensions), but not so much. Did you catch TAL on t.v. last season? Good stuff.
